Hermosa Beach Bag Ban

Convince the Hermosa Beach City Council to pass a ban on the use of plastic bags for grocery store checkout and at other retail establishments.

The Hermosa Beach City Council adopted their single-use plastic bag ban on August 25th by a 4-0 vote. The ban will eliminate single-use plastic bags at retail establishments, grocery stores, pharmacies, food service providers, liquor stores, newsstands and kiosks. It excludes dry-cleaners. Grocery stores are allowed to use plastic produce bags and use plastic at the deli counter, but carry-out bags must be recyclable paper or reusable.
