Goal: to ensure continuous public access to the beach and to protect much needed greenspace in Indian River Shores.
Victory! Indian River Shores established permanent beach access at a five-acre development.
The Sebastian Inlet Chapter supported the Greenspace Proposal presented by the Pebble Beach Neighborhood Group on July 28, 2016. The proposal included natural open space, passive recreational use, and a beach access path. In addition to ensuring beach access, the proposal protects unqiue species such as the gopher tortoise, osprey, and white ibis- to name only a few. While the town ultimatley voted to support the development, they included a provision to protect beach access.
